Lucozade Energy Zero Sugar Pink Lemonade

Lucozade is a historic energy and sports drink brand that originated in the United Kingdom. It was first created in 1927 by a chemist named William Owen in Newcastle, originally under the name Glucozade. For much of its history, it was marketed as a restorative tonic for the sick and was owned by the British pharmaceutical company Beecham (later GlaxoSmithKline).

In 2013, GlaxoSmithKline sold Lucozade, along with its sister brand Ribena, to the Japanese multinational giant Suntory. Today, the brand is managed by Suntory Beverage & Food, specifically its European division. While the brand is quintessentially British and maintains significant production facilities in the UK (such as the Coleford factory in Gloucestershire), its ownership represents the global reach of Japanese beverage investment in the 21st century.
