Original Wagner Die Backfrische Mozzarella Pizza

Wagner is one of Europe's largest manufacturers of frozen pizza. Founded in 1968 by Ernst Wagner in Nonnweiler, Germany, the brand evolved from a family bakery into a major industrial producer. The 'Die Backfrische' line is one of their premium offerings, characterized by its sourdough crust and stone-oven pre-baking process.

In 2005, Nestlé acquired a majority stake in the company, taking full ownership in 2013 to integrate it into its global frozen food portfolio. Despite the international ownership, production remains centered in Germany, specifically at its historic site in Nonnweiler (Otzenhausen), which serves most of the European market. The brand is a staple in German supermarkets and is managed under the Nestlé Wagner GmbH subsidiary.
