Château Crystal Castle Malting Malt

Château Crystal® is a premium aromatic malt produced by the historic Castle Malting, one of the oldest malting companies in Belgium. Founded near the castle of Beloeil, the brand leverages centuries-old Belgian malting traditions. Their specialized production process creates a caramel-copper colored malt that is highly prized by craft brewers worldwide for imparting rich flavors and smooth bitterness to amber and dark lager beers.

The entire manufacturing process is centralized in Belgium, specifically at the malting plant in Beloeil. Castle Malting utilizes local barley and maintains a philosophy of 100% traceability from the barley field through to the final delivery. The brand is globally recognized for its adherence to traditional malting techniques, such as a minimum nine-day processing period, ensuring a high degree of grain modification without the use of GMOs.

The brand is owned and operated by La Malterie du Château SA, which remains an independent Belgian entity. This allows the company to maintain high artisanal standards while exporting to over 140 countries. At the management level, it is known for its high-quality standards (HACCP) and its strategic distribution center in Ghlin, Belgium, which facilitates international logistics for the brewing industry.
