Shell is one of the world's most iconic energy brands, with a history dating back to a small shop in London where Marcus Samuel sold seashells in the 1830s. This evolved into the Shell Transport and Trading Company, which eventually merged with the Royal Dutch Petroleum Company in 1907 to form Royal Dutch Shell. The brand is globally recognized for its innovations in fuel performance (V-Power) and synthetic lubricants (Helix).
Today, Shell operates as a global energy giant with manufacturing and refining facilities spread across nearly every continent. While the brand has deep heritage in both the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, its chemical processing and fuel production are localized to serve regional markets. Following a major corporate restructuring in 2022, the company simplified its legal structure and moved its headquarters and tax residency entirely to London, United Kingdom.
