HERE Maps (now HERE WeGo)

HERE Maps, currently known as HERE WeGo, is a multi-platform digital navigation service and mapping database. It originated as a division of Nokia, following the acquisition of the American mapping company Navteq. The brand has a rich history of development in both Finland and the United States, providing detailed cartography and location data for automotive systems, web, and mobile platforms.

In 2015, the service underwent a major ownership shift when it was acquired by a consortium of German automotive companies, including Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz (Daimler). Since then, ownership has diversified globally, with significant investments from Mitsubishi Corporation, Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT), Intel, and Continental. The company is currently headquartered in the Netherlands, operating as a private entity that supplies mapping technology to the global tech and automotive sectors.
