Apollo Optics (now Apollo GraphOS Engine)

Apollo Optics was originally launched as a performance monitoring and analytics tool for GraphQL servers. It was developed to help developers visualize query execution, identify performance bottlenecks, and optimize data fetching layers. The brand is a core part of the Apollo GraphQL ecosystem, which has defined the modern standards for GraphQL implementation in enterprise environments.

Over time, Apollo Optics evolved and was integrated into subsequent platforms, most notably Apollo Engine and later into the comprehensive Apollo GraphOS suite. The technology remains under the ownership of Apollo GraphQL (officially Meteor Software Inc., doing business as Apollo), based in San Francisco. Since its inception, the product has transitioned from a standalone monitoring tool into a cloud-native platform providing schema management, delivery pipelines, and observability for the supergraph.
