Galbani Galbanino cheese

Galbanino is one of Italy's most recognized mild, semi-hard cheeses, known for its distinctive cylindrical shape and protective wax coating. Originally launched in 1937, it was developed to provide Italian families with a versatile, high-quality cheese that melts easily and stays fresh longer. It has since become a staple in Italian households for both snacking and cooking, particularly in pizza and sandwich preparations.

The brand Galbani, which produces Galbanino, was founded in 1882 by Egidio Galbani in Melzo, Italy. While the brand carries a legacy of over a century of Italian cheesemaking tradition, its corporate ownership transitioned in 2006 when it was acquired by the French dairy conglomerate Lactalis Group. Today, while Galbanino continues to be manufactured primarily in Italy to maintain its authentic heritage, it is managed globally from the Lactalis headquarters in France.
