Cressi (formerly Cressi-Sub) is one of the oldest and most prestigious names in the underwater sports world. Founded in 1946 by brothers Egidio and Nanni Cressi in Genoa, Italy, the brand is credited with inventing some of the most fundamental tools used in modern diving, including the world's first mask with a dedicated nose pocket for pressure equalization.
While many global brands have shifted their entire production to East Asia, Cressi maintains a significant portion of its manufacturing at its corporate headquarters in Genoa. This facility covers over 16,000 square meters and houses advanced robotic production lines alongside traditional craftsmanship. Lower-end accessories or specific composite items may be sourced through their controlled global supply chain, but their high-tech masks, fins, and regulators are proudly labeled as made in Italy.
Unlike many of its competitors who have been acquired by large multinational investment conglomerates, Cressi remains a family-owned and operated business. This independence has allowed the brand to maintain a consistent focus on innovation and quality control, ensuring they remain a top choice for both professional divers and recreational spearfishers worldwide.
