Wolt is a prominent technology platform specializing in food delivery and local logistics. Founded in Helsinki, Finland, in 2014, the company was established by Miki Kuusi alongside a group of entrepreneurs seeking to simplify access to local restaurants through a mobile-first interface.

Over the years, Wolt rapidly expanded its European footprint, becoming a market leader in the Nordic and Baltic regions before moving into Central and Eastern Europe and later Japan. The brand's focus on seamless user experience for both customers and merchant partners allowed it to scale into a global logistics powerhouse.

In 2022, Wolt was officially acquired by the American commerce giant DoorDash in a major acquisition that integrated Wolt's international expertise with DoorDash's North American leadership. Today, while it operates under its original brand name in many international markets, it is a key subsidiary of the San Francisco-based DoorDash Inc.
