Wolt delivery platform

Wolt is a prominent Finnish technology and delivery platform originally founded in Helsinki, Finland, in 2014 by Miki Kuusi and five co-founders. The company initially focused on restaurant deliveries but quickly expanded its catalog to include groceries and various retail goods.

In May 2022, Wolt was acquired by the American technology giant DoorDash in an all-stock transaction valued at approximately $8.1 billion. Following the acquisition, Wolt has continued to operate under its original brand name in most international markets outside the United States, serving as the primary vehicle for DoorDash's expansion across Europe and parts of Asia. As of 2026, the brand operates in dozens of countries, including Denmark, Germany, Israel, and Japan, though it serves as a subsidiary of its American parent company. Wolt also operates its own grocery chain, Wolt Market, in several key regions.
