The brand is manufactured and owned by the COGB La Belle group (Complexe des Corps Gras), a major industrial player in Algeria's agri-food sector. Since its inception, the brand has focused on local industrial development, reducing dependence on imports by processing and refining raw materials within Algerian facilities.

Today, Sonat operates under the corporate umbrella of the SPA COGB La Belle, which maintains headquarters in Bejaia. The company remains one of the largest private sector entities in Algeria's food industry, continually expanding its production capacity to meet both domestic demand and export opportunities in the regional market.
