Palmolive is one of the world's most recognized household brands, with a history dating back to 1898. Originally launched by the B.J. Johnson Soap Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the brand was named for the palm and olive oils used in its formula. Its rapid success led the company to rename itself the Palmolive Company in 1917, eventually merging with Peet Brothers and later the Colgate Company in 1928 to form what is now Colgate-Palmolive.

Today, Palmolive products are manufactured in multiple countries across nearly every continent to serve local markets, including major facilities in the United States, Mexico, Thailand, and Europe.
