Fraxiparine (nadroparin calcium) solution for injection

Fraxiparine is a widely used anticoagulant medication containing nadroparin calcium, a low-molecular-weight heparin used to prevent and treat blood clots. The brand was originally developed and brought to market by the French pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Synthélabo. Over time, the brand has changed hands through various corporate acquisitions and portfolio divestments.

In recent years, the pharmaceutical giant Mylan (now part of Viatris) acquired Fraxiparine and other related products from Aspen Pharmacare, who had previously acquired them from GSK. Today, Fraxiparine is a core product in the portfolio of Mylan/Viatris. In the Dutch market, it is commonly distributed under the Mylan brand name. Manufacturing for these injectable products primarily takes place in specialized facilities in France (notably at the Notre-Dame-de-Bondeville site), which has a long historical association with the production of nadroparin.
