Capilano Honey is Australia's most iconic honey brand, synonymous with high-quality, 100% pure Australian honey. Founded in 1953 by brothers Tim and Bert Smith, the brand began as a small family operation packing and selling honey from their own hives and those of surrounding beekeepers in Brisbane. Over the decades, it grew into a national leader, establishing a vast network of over 600 Australian beekeeping families.

Today, Capilano remains firmly rooted in its heritage, with its primary manufacturing and packing facilities located in Richlands (Queensland), Maryborough (Victoria), and Bayswater (Western Australia). The brand maintains a strict policy against using imported honey, ensuring that every drop sold under the Capilano name is sourced locally from native Australian flora.

The business transitioned from a public company (formerly Capilano Honey Ltd) to a private entity following its acquisition in 2018. It is now owned by Hive + Wellness Australia, a consortium that includes the investment firm Wattle Hill Capital and Roc Partners. This ownership structure continues to emphasize the brand's Australian identity and its commitment to the domestic apiculture industry.
