bq Cervantes lite e-reader

The bq Cervantes lite is a compact e-reader from the Spanish technology company BQ. Originally operating under the name Mundo Lector, the brand was a pioneer in bringing smartphones, tablets, and e-readers to the Spanish market with a focus on affordability and open-source integration.

While the brand was founded and headquartered in Spain, where all engineering and design processes took place, the physical assembly of its hardware was outsourced to manufacturers in China. In 2018, the Vietnamese conglomerate Vingroup acquired a majority stake in the company to utilize BQ's expertise for its VinSmart division. However, following a shift in Vingroup's strategy, the BQ brand was eventually phased out, and the original company faced liquidation, making these devices legacy products in the consumer electronics market.
