Founded in 1921 by William Grover Barnard, Vitamix is a pioneer in the high-performance blending industry. Originally known as the Natural Foods Institute, the company introduced the first Vitamix blender in 1937, famously marketed through the first television infomercial in history in 1949.

While the company sources various components globally, the final assembly of its blenders primarily takes place at its headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Olmsted Falls, Ohio.
