Hawtio is a lightweight and modular management console for Java applications. It was originally created by developers associated with the Red Hat community and JBoss, designed to provide a pluggable web interface for managing various Java technologies such as Apache Camel, ActiveMQ, and JMX. Unlike physical consumer products, Hawtio is an open-source project licensed under the Apache License 2.0.
The project is maintained by a global community of contributors. While many of the original creators and primary maintainers work for Red Hat (a subsidiary of IBM), the software itself is hosted on public repositories like GitHub, making its 'manufacturing' or development a collaborative international effort. It is widely used in enterprise environments to monitor and manage middleware components.
