Trapa chocolates

Trapa is one of Spain's most iconic chocolate brands, founded in 1891 by the Trappist monks at the Monastery of San Isidro de Dueñas in Palencia. The brand is celebrated for its long-standing tradition in master chocolate craftsmanship, gaining significant fame for being one of the first Spanish companies to produce 'bombones' (chocolate pralines).

While the brand was originally created by the religious order, it transitioned to private ownership in the 20th century. Today, Trapa is owned by Europraliné S.L., a Spanish company that has heavily invested in modernizing the factory while maintaining traditional recipes. The brand is also recognized for its early environmental commitment, having removed palm oil from its entire product line to support forest conservation. Manufacturing remains centralized at its historic production site in San Isidro de Dueñas, Spain.
