Zara T-shirt

Zara is a globally recognized fast-fashion brand that originated in Spain. Founded by Amancio Ortega and Rosalía Mera in 1975, the brand opened its first store in A Coruña, Galicia. It has since grown into the flagship brand of the Inditex group, one of the world's largest fashion retailers.

Zara's manufacturing process is unique due to its 'proximity sourcing' model. Approximately half of its products—typically the most trend-driven and high-fashion items—are manufactured in company-owned factories located in Spain, Portugal, and Turkey to ensure rapid delivery to European stores. Meanwhile, basic and high-volume items, such as standard T-shirts, are often outsourced to manufacturing hubs in Asia, including China, Bangladesh, and India, to optimize production costs. Regardless of where the item is produced, all Zara clothing is processed through the company's central distribution hubs in Spain before being shipped to global markets.
