7-Eleven convenience store services and private label products

7-Eleven is the world's largest convenience store chain, originally founded in Dallas, Texas, in 1927. Initially named 'Tote'm Stores' because customers 'toted' away their purchases, the company renamed itself 7-Eleven in 1946 to reflect its then-unprecedented operating hours of 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., seven days a week. It became famous for inventing the 'Slurpee' and for popularizing the coffee-to-go concept.

While the brand has its roots in the United States, its ownership shifted significantly over the decades. Following a financial rescue in the 1990s, the Japanese company Ito-Yokado became the controlling shareholder. By 2005, the brand was fully acquired and became a subsidiary of the Japanese holding company Seven & i Holdings Co., Ltd. Today, the chain operates more than 80,000 stores globally, with manufacturing and supply chains distributed across every continent to provide fresh food and localized private-label products.
