Etos is a prominent Dutch brand with a history dating back to 1919. It began as a cooperative for employees of the Philips company in Eindhoven, with the name being an acronym for 'Eendracht, Toewijding, Overleg, en Samenwerking' (Unity, Devotion, Consultation, and Cooperation). Over the decades, it evolved from a local cooperative into one of the most recognizable drugstore chains in the Netherlands.

The brand offers a wide range of private-label products, including cosmetics, skincare, and health supplements. While the brand is quintessentially Dutch, its manufacturing occurs across various locations, primarily within Europe and the Netherlands, to meet its high quality and sustainability standards. Ownership transitioned in the 1970s when it was acquired by the retail giant Ahold.

Today, Etos is owned by Ahold Delhaize, a major international food retail group. This ownership provides Etos with a robust global supply chain while maintaining its distinct identity as a neighborhood drugstore providing accessible health and beauty solutions.
