The Schwarz Group is a powerhouse in the European retail sector, primarily known for its two dominant chains: Lidl and Kaufland. Founded in 1930 in Germany, the company has evolved from a traditional grocery wholesaler into one of the world's largest retail ecosystems. It operates an extensive network of thousands of stores across Europe and the United States, providing a wide array of food and household goods.

Beyond retail, the Schwarz Group is vertically integrated. It operates its own food production facilities under the Schwarz Produktion brand and manages environmental services through PreZero.
