Specifically, the water is extracted from the deep volcanic layers in the Pöntertal, a nature conservation area near the Laacher See and the town of Andernach. The water's unique mineral composition is a result of its journey through ancient volcanic rock, which naturally filters and enriches it.

The brand is owned and operated by Eifel-Quelle GmbH, which is headquartered in Brohl-Lützing. Eifel-Quelle is part of the Tönissteiner Privatbrunnen group, a historic family-owned company that has been managing springs in the region since the late 19th century. The company is currently led by the fourth generation of the Kerstiens and Körner families, maintaining its status as an independent private fountain (Privatbrunnen) rather than being part of a large multinational beverage conglomerate.
