Bolletje Smeuïge Ontbijtkoek

Bolletje is one of the most iconic Dutch bakery brands, originating in 1867 when Gerardus Johannes ter Beek opened a bakery in Almelo. The brand became famous for its 'beschuit' (rusks) and expanded into various breakfast and snack products, including the 'Ontbijtkoek' (gingerbread) pictured here.

Manufacturing remains primarily focused within the Netherlands, with major production facilities located in Almelo and Heerde. The brand is known for its distinctive red packaging and the 'Bolletje baker' logo. In 2013, the family-owned company was acquired by the German Borggreve Group, though it continues to operate predominantly as a Dutch entity serving the Benelux market.
