Friele coffee stick

Friele is Norway's leading coffee brand, originally established in Bergen in 1799. For over two centuries, it operated as a family-owned business, becoming deeply ingrained in Norwegian culture. Its production is centered at a high-tech roasting facility in Midtun, Bergen.

In the modern era, the family sold a majority stake to the Dutch conglomerate D.E Master Blenders 1753. Following a series of global mergers, the brand became part of the JDE Peet's portfolio. While it remains a quintessentially Norwegian brand in terms of identity and primary roasting, the coffee beans are sourced globally, and the ultimate corporate control resides in the Netherlands under the management of an American-influenced investment structure.
