Vauxhall motor vehicles

Vauxhall is one of the oldest established vehicle manufacturers in the United Kingdom, having begun car production in 1903. Originally a pump and marine engine manufacturer in the Vauxhall area of London, the company moved to Luton in 1905 and became a staple of the British automotive landscape.

For much of its history, Vauxhall was a subsidiary of General Motors, sharing most of its product development with the German brand Opel. This partnership defined the brand for nearly a century, establishing a footprint that spanned across Europe. In 2017, the ownership shifted when the French Groupe PSA (the parent company of Peugeot and Citroën) acquired the brand from General Motors.

Today, Vauxhall is part of the global automotive giant Stellantis, which was formed through the merger of Groupe PSA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. While Vauxhall maintains its distinctive British identity and continues to manufacture vehicles and components at plants like Ellesmere Port and Luton, its engineering and platforms are now shared with a wide array of international brands within the Stellantis portfolio.
