Panda is a beloved Finnish confectionery brand, most famous for its high-quality licorice and seasonal chocolate products. The product shown is a chocolate egg, typically sold during the Easter season in Finland. The brand's history dates back to 1920 when it was established in Jyväskylä, Finland, where its primary production facility still operates today.
While Panda began as an independent Finnish company under the name SOK (Suomen Osuuskauppojen Keskuskunta), it underwent several ownership changes over the decades. Today, it is part of the Orkla Group, a Norwegian conglomerate that acquired the brand through its acquisition of Felix Abba. Despite the international ownership, Panda maintains its strong Finnish identity and still produces the majority of its core chocolate and licorice products within Finland, specifically at the Vaajakoski factory.
