Originally founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1944 by Peter Bodum, the company revolutionized the way people brew coffee at home by focusing on functional, affordable, and aesthetically pleasing design. While the brand originated in Denmark and later moved its headquarters to Switzerland to centralize international operations, the manufacturing of their glass carafes and assembly often takes place in Portugal.
