Kettle Ridge Cut Italian Style Balsamic Vinegar & Sea Salt is a premium snack produced by Snack Brands Australia. The brand traces its origins to the hand-cooked 'kettle' style chip tradition that emerged in the United States in the late 1970s. However, the Australian Kettle brand followed a separate corporate trajectory from its international counterparts. In 1998, as part of a divestment required by the ACCC after Frito-Lay's acquisition of The Smith's Snackfood Company, the 'Kettle' trademark and manufacturing rights in Australia were sold to form Snack Brands Australia.

Today, the product is manufactured locally in Australia, primarily using Australian-grown potatoes and local ingredients like South Australian sea salt. The manufacturing shifted significantly in 2025-2026, with the opening of a flagship automated facility in Orchard Hills, New South Wales, replacing older plants in Smithfield and Blacktown.

Ownership of the brand has changed several times. After being owned by Snack Foods Limited and later purchased by the Philippine-based Universal Robina Corporation (URC) in 2016, the brand is now under the ultimate ownership of Intersnack, a leading European snack food company headquartered in Germany. This transition resulted from Intersnack acquiring the remaining stakes of a joint venture with URC in late 2021, consolidating its presence in the Australian market.
