Clean & Clear is a globally recognized skincare brand specifically formulated to address the needs of younger skin and common conditions like acne. The Persa-Gel line is a core part of its clinical treatment portfolio, featuring benzoyl peroxide as its active ingredient to target surface bacteria and clear pores.
Originally developed by Revlon in the late 1950s as a sensitive skin soap line, the brand underwent a significant transformation after being acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 1991. Under J&J, the brand was repositioned away from 'sensitive skin' and toward 'clear skin,' specifically targeting the teenage demographic with vibrant packaging and straightforward marketing.
In early 2023, as part of a major corporate restructuring, Johnson & Johnson spun off its consumer health division into a separate, independent company called Kenvue. As a result, Clean & Clear is now part of the Kenvue family of brands, which remains headquartered in the United States and serves a global market. Production for North American markets, such as Canada (as evidenced by the bilingual labeling), typically occurs in the United States or through various contract manufacturing facilities globally.
