Tilda Pure Basmati Rice

Tilda is a premier food brand recognized globally for its high-quality Basmati rice. The brand was originally founded in the United Kingdom in 1970 by the Thakrar family. Initially established to serve the Asian diaspora in the UK, Tilda was the first company to bring Basmati rice to the Western market in a significant way, building a reputation for meticulous quality control and distinctive aroma.

While the rice itself is grown and harvested in the Himalayan foothills of India and Pakistan, the product visible in the image is processed and packaged at Tilda's state-of-the-art facility in Rainham, Essex, UK. This facility handles the cleaning, milling, and polishing of the rice to ensure it meets strict international standards before being exported to over 50 countries.

In 2019, Tilda underwent a major corporate shift when it was acquired by the Spanish food giant Ebro Foods. Today, Ebro Foods serves as the ultimate owner, managing Tilda alongside several other leading global rice and pasta brands. Despite the change in ownership, the brand maintains its British heritage and primary operations within the United Kingdom.
