Maarud Potetgull Sourcream & Onion

Maarud is one of Norway's most iconic snack brands, famously known for coining the term 'Potetgull' (Potato Gold). Founded in 1936 by Thomas Stang at the Maarud farm in Sør-Odal, the brand pioneered the production of potato chips in the Norwegian market. For decades, it has remained a household staple, recognized for its traditional recipes and local supply chain.

The brand has undergone several ownership changes over the years. Originally a family-owned venture, it was later acquired by Kraft Foods (now Mondelēz) in 1982. In 2008, it was sold to the investment group Herkules Capital, before being acquired in 2014 by its current ultimate owner, the German snack giant Intersnack Group. Today, Maarud products are primarily manufactured at the original factory location in Disenå, Norway, using potatoes often sourced from local Norwegian farmers.
