The brand's history began in 1838 when the Geldermann brothers and William Deutz founded the Deutz champagne house in Aÿ, France. Eventually, the company established a presence in Breisach, Germany, to produce high-quality sparkling wine using the traditional Méthode Champenoise.

Today, Geldermann is a leading premium Sekt producer in Germany, known for aging its wines in the historic cellars beneath the Breisach Cathedral. While the brand carries a French heritage in its name and production methods, the manufacturing process is centered in Breisach, Germany.
