Buko Pandan

Buko is the Tagalog term for young, green coconut, a staple ingredient in Filipino cuisine. While 'Buko' itself refers to the fruit, it is most famously commercialized across the Philippines and Southeast Asia in the form of Buko Pandan salad, Buko Juice, and Buko Pie. These products are primarily manufactured in the Philippines, leveraging the country's status as one of the world's top coconut producers.

Because 'Buko' is a generic term for the ingredient, its ownership varies. In a commercial context, major Filipino conglomerates like San Miguel Corporation, Alaska Milk Corporation, and various local artisanal brands (such as Colette's or Nathaniel's) produce and distribute Buko-based commodities. The tradition of Buko products is deeply rooted in Filipino food culture, spanning from street-side refreshments to exported canned and bottled processed goods distributed globally to the Filipino diaspora.
