Bendigo Pottery is Australia's oldest working pottery, founded in 1858 by George Duncan Guthrie in Epsom, Victoria. The 'Waverley Ware' line represented a significant artistic period for the company, particularly during the 1930s and 1940s, featuring distinctive colored glazes—often in greens, blues, and ambers—which are highly collectible today.

Throughout its long history, Bendigo Pottery has maintained its manufacturing operations in its original location in Epsom. The company survived various economic shifts and industrial changes by transitioning between utilitarian stoneware, architectural pipes, and laboratory equipment, eventually returning to its roots in commercial and artistic tableware. Since the 1970s, it has remained a privately owned Australian business, continuing to produce functional and decorative ceramics using traditional methods while operating as a major heritage tourism site.
