Faygo soft drink

Faygo is an iconic American soft drink brand with a rich history rooted in Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1907 by Russian immigrant bakers Ben and Perry Feigenson, the brand was originally known as the Feigenson Brothers Bottling Works. Their earliest flavors were inspired by cake frosting recipes, which led to the creation of legendary flavors like Fruit Punch, Strawberry, and Grape. The name was shortened to Faygo in the early 1920s to fit more easily on glass bottles.

Over the decades, Faygo transitioned from a local Detroit favorite to a regional powerhouse, gaining particular cultural notoriety through its association with the music group Insane Clown Posse and their dedicated fanbase. Despite its massive cultural presence, the brand remains deeply tied to its Midwestern roots, with its primary manufacturing facility still located on Gratiot Avenue in Detroit.

Today, Faygo is owned by the National Beverage Corp., which acquired the brand in 1987. This ownership has allowed Faygo to expand its distribution across the United States and into certain international markets, though it remains a symbol of Detroit's industrial and culinary heritage. The product line has expanded to include over 50 flavors, maintaining its reputation for vibrant branding and unique, dessert-inspired soda profiles.
