Tate & Lyle is a globally recognized brand steeped in British industrial history. Originally formed by the 1921 merger of two rival sugar refineries owned by Henry Tate and Abram Lyle, the brand became a staple in households across the United Kingdom and beyond. Known for its iconic golden syrup and refined sugars, the brand's heritage is deeply tied to the development of the sugar industry in London.

While the parent company, Tate & Lyle PLC, transitioned into a global provider of food and beverage ingredients, the consumer sugar refining business was sold in 2010. Today, the Tate & Lyle Sugars brand is owned by American Sugar Refining (ASR Group), the largest vertically integrated cane sugar refiner in the world. Despite this American ownership, the production for European markets continues to be centered at the historic Thames Refinery in Silvertown, London, maintaining the brand's strong British connection.

The product featured, 'Rørsukker' (Cane Sugar), is packaged for the Scandinavian market but retains the classic British 'Sukker Engelsk' branding, symbolizing its traditional refining roots in the UK.
