Buitoni is one of the world's most recognizable Italian food brands, specializing in pasta, sauces, and frozen pizzas. Founded in 1827 by Giulia Buitoni in Sansepolcro, Italy, the brand built its reputation on traditional Italian recipes and high-quality ingredients. The Bella Napoli range specifically focuses on the Neapolitan-style pizza characteristics, such as the 'cornicione alto' (high crust) and the use of Italian tomatoes and mozzarella.

Over the decades, the ownership of Buitoni has shifted through corporate acquisitions. In 1988, the brand was acquired by the Swiss multinational Nestlé. However, in recent years, the ownership structure has become more complex. While Nestlé retained ownership of the brand name for many years, the production of frozen pizzas (such as the one pictured) and other segments were part of strategic divestments. As of the 2020s, the Buitoni frozen pizza brand in Europe underwent significant changes, with Newlat Food S.p.A. acquiring several Buitoni-related operations and licenses, and Nestlé transitioning rights in various regions. The manufacturing remains heavily centralized in Italy to preserve the authenticity of the product's origin.
