ADAM Audio was founded in Berlin, Germany, in 1999 and quickly became a staple in the professional audio industry. The brand is best known for its innovative eXtended Accelerating Ribbon Technology (X-ART) tweeters, which provide high-resolution high frequencies that have transformed studio monitoring. Originally established by physicist Klaus Heinz and marketing expert Roland Stenz, the company focused on engineering solutions that solved the traditional limitations of high-frequency transducers.

In 2021, the brand entered a new era when it was acquired by Focusrite plc, a global leader in pro-audio hardware. This acquisition integrated ADAM Audio into the Focusrite Group, which also includes brands like Novation and Sequential. While the research, development, and engineering for products like the A Series and S Series continue to take place in Berlin, mass manufacturing for more accessible consumer lines is conducted in China to meet global demand, while maintaining German design and quality control standards.
