The brand's name and legacy are tied to a historic discovery in 1996, where 4 wooden barrels of 'imperial' spirits from the year 1845 (the 25th year of the Daoguang Era of the Qing Dynasty) were unearthed at the Jinzhou Linghe Distillery. These spirits were found to be perfectly preserved, leading the National Cultural Relics Bureau to designate it as a state-level liquid cultural relic.

The product is manufactured primarily in Jinzhou by the Liaoning Daoguang 25 Group. It is categorized as an 'aroma' type Baijiu, crafted through traditional fermentation processes that have been passed down through generations.
