The brand quickly expanded globally, launching in the United States in 1963 and becoming a household name across North America and Australasia.

Today, the brand is under the ultimate ownership of The Clorox Company. While manufacturing occurs in multiple locations to serve global markets, key facilities include plants in Orangeville, Ontario, Canada, and Rogers, Arkansas, USA. Some specific product variations or high-volume dispensers are also manufactured in China for the Australian and Asian markets. In 2025-2026, Clorox completed the final consolidation of the brand by acquiring the remaining stake from its long-term joint venture partner, Procter & Gamble, ensuring Glad remains a core pillar of the Clorox household portfolio.
