Phebo originated in 1930 in Belém do Pará, in the heart of the Amazon region, founded by Portuguese cousins Antonio and Mario Santiago who intended to create a high-quality perfumery with natural essences. The brand became an icon in Brazil, particularly known for its translucent glycerin bar soaps.

In 2004, the brand was acquired by Granado Pharmácias, another historic Brazilian company. Since then, the brand has expanded its portfolio while maintaining its artisanal legacy. Today, the products are primarily manufactured in the Granado industrial complex in Japeri, Rio de Janeiro. Ownership remains under Granado, which maintains its headquarters in Brazil and continues to position Phebo as a premium lifestyle and fragrance brand.
