The Olympus OM-D E-M10 is a compact, mirrorless interchangeable lens camera that belongs to the Micro Thirds system. It is designed to combine the retro aesthetic of classic SLR cameras with modern digital technology. The brand has a rich history in photography, famously known for its Zuiko lenses and the original OM film series, which the digital OM-D line pays homage to.

In early 2021, the Olympus Corporation completed the transfer of its imaging business to a new entity called OM Digital Solutions. This transition marked a significant shift in ownership, as the camera brand is no longer part of the original Olympus industrial conglomerate but is now owned by Japan Industrial Partners (JIP). Manufacturing for these devices typically occurs in specialized facilities across Southeast Asia and East Asia to maintain technical precision while managing costs.

Today, the brand continues to operate under the name OM-System, maintaining the legacy of the Olympus brand name on many existing product lines while focusing on lightweight, high-performance gear for outdoor and travel photography.
