ProActiv is a well-known brand of functional food products designed specifically to help lower cholesterol levels. Its history is deeply rooted in the margarine and spreads industry, initially launching under the Flora or Becel umbrellas in various markets before becoming a standalone brand. The product featured is a 100% plant-based gourmet spread containing added plant sterols, which are clinically proven to reduce cholesterol absorption.

Originally developed by the Anglo-Dutch conglomerate Unilever, the brand was part of their global spreads portfolio for decades. In 2018, Unilever sold its entire spreads division to the private equity firm KKR, which then formed Upfield. Today, Upfield is the world's leading producer of plant-based spreads, operating with a focus on sustainable and dairy-free alternatives. While the brand has global origins in the Netherlands and the UK, manufacturing occurs across various specialized facilities worldwide, particularly in Europe, to serve international markets.
