Belkin is a globally recognized American brand specializing in consumer electronics and connectivity equipment. Founded in 1983 by Chet Pipkin in Hawthorne, California, the company gained fame for its high-quality cables, networking hardware, and mobile accessories.

Starting as a garage venture, Belkin grew into a major international player by focusing on the 'connection' between users and their technology. In 2018, the brand was acquired for approximately $866 million by Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT), a subsidiary of the Taiwanese manufacturing giant Foxconn (Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd.). Under this ownership, Belkin continues to operate as an independent subsidiary, maintaining its design headquarters in El Segundo, California.

Manufacturing for Belkin products occurs in multiple locations; while many products are engineered and designed in the United States, large-scale production is primarily handled through facilities in China and Vietnam to leverage Foxconn's extensive global supply chain.
