The image shows a 50 Swedish Krona (SEK) banknote, featuring the reverse side design. This specific banknote belongs to the 2015 series issued by Sveriges Riksbank, Sweden’s central bank. The design motifs include a representation of Bohuslän with a rock carving of a ship from Tanum and honeysuckle flowers.
While the currency is issued by the Swedish state, the physical production of the banknotes was outsourced to private security printing companies. Between 2008 and 2020, Crane AB (a subsidiary of Crane Currency) produced Swedish banknotes at the Tumba Bruk printing house south of Stockholm. However, Crane closed the Tumba facility in 2020, and current production primarily occurs at Crane Currency’s high-security facility in Malta.
