Marabou is an iconic Swedish chocolate brand founded in 1916. It was originally established by the Norwegian chocolatier Johan Throne Holst, who already owned the Freia brand in Norway. The brand became a Royal Purveyor to the Swedish court and is deeply ingrained in Scandinavian culture.
While Marabou's main production remains at its factory in Upplands Väsby, Sweden, specific seasonal products like these filled chocolate eggs are often produced at other European facilities owned by the parent company to meet seasonal demand. Today, Marabou is owned by the American multinational Mondelēz International.
