Krakus is one of Poland's most iconic food brands, established in 1951. Originally focused on exporting premium Polish ham to North American and European markets, it has become a staple of Polish culinary tradition. The 'Szynka Biała od Szwagra' (White Brother-in-Law's Ham) is a delicatessen-style sliced ham noted for its traditional recipe, lack of smoking, and use of 100% meat sourced from local farms in Poland.
Today, the Krakus brand is part of the Animex Foods group, which is the largest meat producer in Poland. Since 2013, Animex Foods—and by extension, the Krakus brand—has been part of the Smithfield Foods group, which was acquired by the WH Group. This acquisition integrated the traditional Polish meat crafts into a massive global supply chain controlled by one of the world's largest pork companies.
