Caffarel Cremosa is a premium dark hazelnut spread known for its high concentration of Piedmont hazelnuts. The brand, Caffarel, has a long-standing history dating back to 1826 in Turin, Italy, where it became famous for inventing Gianduja chocolate by mixing cocoa with roasted hazelnuts while the region was under economic blockade.
Today, Caffarel maintains its reputation as a high-end Italian chocolatier. While it was originally a family-owned venture, it was acquired in the late 1990s by the Swiss chocolate giant Lindt & Sprüngli. The production continues to be centered in Luserna San Giovanni, Italy, ensuring that the brand retains its authentic Italian heritage and quality standards while operating within the global portfolio of its Swiss parent company.
