Intel is a global leader in the design and manufacturing of microprocessors, the 'brains' of modern computers. The 'Intel Inside' branding, visible on the sticker in the image, represents one of the most successful ingredient branding campaigns in history, launched in the early 1990s to build consumer awareness of the technology powering their PCs.
Intel operates a massive global supply chain. While many of its advanced semiconductor chips are designed and fabricated in the United States, the company also operates significant manufacturing facilities in Ireland, Israel, and Vietnam. The assembly and testing of the final chips often occur in facilities across Southeast Asia, including Malaysia and China.
Intel was founded in 1968 by semiconductor pioneers Gordon Moore and Robert Noyce. Today, it remains a publicly traded company and is a cornerstone of the global technology sector, continuing to innovate in data centers, artificial intelligence, and personal computing architectures.
